We thought the Slake Snake Strava segment deserved some challengers. Turns out, so did a lot of you.

The fifth annual Slake Snake Hill Climb is happening on Sunday, November 8, 2026 at Slake Brewing, Prince Edward County. Registration is live now, so mark your calendars and tell your people!

What 2025 left on the wall

Last November was the fastest edition yet. Six riders put new times on the segment leaderboard in a single day. The all-time men's record dropped two seconds and the women's dropped four. And Rob Legge took his own open-field lap record from 19 to 23 — twenty-three laps of that hill, in an hour, in November.

So here are the numbers to beat on the 8th:

  • 37 seconds — Sandy Sweet and Riley Dunn, tied
  • 46 seconds — Rebecca G
  • 23 laps — Rob Legge, open field

If those times make you think this isn't for you, read the next bit.

You are not too slow for this

We hear a lot of people start cycling conversations with "I'm not a racer," and most of them think they're the only ones. They're not. Every year, the field is parents with toddlers on board, dogs in trailers, a tandem, a couple of road bikes trying to hack the gravel, and a pack of Salsa fat bikes. Everybody gets the same hill, and everybody gets the same view at the top.

Ride it once. Ride it twenty-three times. Wave at the spectators or put your head down — it's up to you.

Make a weekend of it

November 8 lands at the tail end of a big PEC weekend. Here's what else is happening:

Not up for a ride, or bringing along a crew? Spectators can join the fun for free.

A thank you

The 2025 Slake Snake was supported by Visit the County through their Community Partnership Fund — their backing helped us level up the experience for everyone who came out.

And of course — thank you to Slake Brewing for the driveway, year after year. 🐍

More to come

Year five is going to be a good one. More categories, more ways to ride, and more details dropping this fall. Until then — the event page has everything you need to know about how it works.
