Hi friends,
Every year someone tells us, “I’d love to come, but I’m not fast enough.”
Good news: that's not the only goal.
The fifth annual Slake Snake Hill Climb is on Sunday, November 8 at Slake Brewing, and we’ve added new prize categories this year that reward everything that makes this event fun: showing up, going back for another lap, riding the weirdest bike in the lot, and trying the Snake for the first time.
Six ways to win
All categories are for race-ticket holders, except the Hatchling Award, which is open to every first-timer.
👑 | King and Queen of the Mountain The classics. Fastest climbers of the day take the crown. |
🔁 | Most Laps For the rider who keeps coming back for more. Pace doesn’t matter, persistence does. |
🛞 | Strange Steed Cargo bike? Fat bike? Tandem? We want to see it climb. The most unlikely bike on the Snake wins, and costumes earn bonus points. |
🐣 | Hatchling Award First time on the Snake? Finish one lap and you’re entered in a draw just for first-timers. |
🎲 | Snake Eyes Draw Every lap you finish earns you an entry. Slow laps count too. Pure luck, and it comes with a seriously spicy prize. |
⏰ | The Twenty Pick your moment during the Open Field, write your start time on the whiteboard, and ride as many laps as you can in 20 minutes. We count laps from your Strava or RideWithGPS distance, so keep it running. Tied on laps? More distance takes it. Last start is 11:10 AM. |
You can go for The Twenty and Most Laps on the same morning.
The prizes We’re grateful to Starboard Sauna, Doug’s Bikes and Beacon Bike + Brew for supporting this year’s prizes, plus a little something spicy from us. 🌶️ You’ll have to show up and grind some gravel to find out more! |
