Mark your calendar. We're thrilled to announce the Melrose Gravel Tour is back on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at the Tyendinaga Recreation Complex, and this year the whole family is invited.
The Melrose Gravel Tour is one of those events that reminds you why you got into cycling in the first place. Not the racing, not the gear — just a day outside on nice gravel roads, good folks, and a syrupy snack waiting for you somewhere in the middle.
This year, we've added a light gravel 35km route and joined the Township to put on a Bike Rodeo for kids so that the whole family can be involved.
Choose Your Ride:
The 80km fondo is the headliner: winding gravel roads, rocky ATV trails, real elevation, and the kind of riding that earns a cold refreshment. It rolls out at 9am. We've mapped a 50km split that creates a solid middle-distance option through the same beautiful backroads — without the full send.
The NEW 35km is the perfect entry point for riders newer to gravel or anyone who just wants a beautiful morning out on the back roads without crawling home. It rolls out at 9:45am.
After the Rides
The BBQ fires up at noon back at the hall.
Included with your entry: Hot dogs, good company, and cold cans of County Bounty Soda.
Hang out after the ride and share your experience with the other riders.
Ride your best, and finish hungry!
Bonus: A Proper Bike Rodeo for Kids from 10-12pm
This year BOQ.BIKE is running a full structured Bike Rodeo for kids ages 5 and up, with three progressive skill levels. This isn't a "ride in a circle" activity: it's a skills primer that builds real confidence and safety habits. Volunteers on hand throughout.
The Bike Rodeo is funded in part by the Ontario Trillium Foundation through the Township of Tyendinaga. We're proud to be part of a community that invests in getting people on bikes. A dedicated post with full details is coming soon.
See you May 24.
